But why the word ‘Lead’

Let’s make an example:

or for ‘clues’ that he can follow

to solve the case.

You could also say he’s looking for ‘leads’.

‘Hints, clues, leads’

They all indicate that there is something to uncover –

if you follow them.

Then he finds out if the hint is useful.

 

Same applies in business:

For a marketer, a lead is someone they can trail.

To do what?

You might ask.

To find out who robbed the bank?

Not really…

To find out if that someone may be useful,
